Morning Briefing: Arizona’s Attempt To Undermine Obama’s Immigration Directive Falls Short | ThinkProgress

– Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) issued an executive order on Wednesday directing “state agencies to deny driver’s licenses” under the Obama administration’s new immigration directive. But on closer examination, it “appears to be little more than hot air.”

– Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said that Israel is a “bogus and fake Zionist outgrowth will disappear off the landscape of geography.”

– The ACA will reduce Medicare’s projected spending by $716 billion and shore up the program’s trust fund. The hospital insurance program now faces a shortfall over the next 75 years equal to 1.35 percent of taxable payroll — “much less than the size of the shortfall that the trustees estimated before the enactment of health reform: 3.88 percent of taxable payroll”:

– A nationwide USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll “of people who are eligible to vote but aren’t likely to do so finds that these stay-at-home Americans back Obama’s re-election over Republican Mitt Romney by more than 2-1.”

– And finally: The Silversun Pickups are asking Mitt Romney’s campaign “to immediately stop the use of the rock group’s song ‘Panic Switch.’”
